Justinas Jarutis is one of the biggest stars of pop music in Lithuania. And after a lot of rescheduling for almost two years, his first solo performance at Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas finally happened on October 30, 2021. Arvydas Buinauskas of AB Light was responsible for the lighting and scenic design.
An unusual show, this was a concert that reflected a long journey of an artist's career: an artist who performed in one of the largest arenas in Europe for the very first time in his life. This is why the concept was to reflect that journey from the bottom to the top. It was a monumental night for Justinas Jarutis as a musician, as he was able to create a world class act and start a new chapter in his career. It was the first arena show in Lithuania after a year and a half, and it had attendance of almost 8,000 people. Therefore everything regarding the stage, scenography, and lighting had to reflect all of these elements.
The scenography itself was bright, optimistic, and light. There was nothing to overcrowd it. Everything had its place and meaning. Justinas Jarutis and ABLight is a partnership that began over 10 years ago. It is a partnership that is based on mutual trust. Justinas Jarutis knew that Buinauskas, as the main designer, knew the importance of this evening. It was a huge responsibility to prepare everything. But it was because of the mutual trust on both sides that allowed everything to go as smooth as possible. This time the request to make it "special" was not a stretch. It was a valid request.
