Live Design's fourth annual 31 Days Of Plots features one production per day during the month of December 2021, highlighting a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, live for broadcast, and more, as we wind down 2021 and head toward the new year.
Day 9 of 31 Days of Plots 2021 travels to Lithuania for a look at the light plots by Arvydas Buinauskas of AB Light for pop star Justinas Jarutis' show at Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas. Read Live Design's Q&A with Buinauskas, which also has a slideshow of images from the concert, which took place on October 30, 2021.
- DTS Wash NRG 1401 were used to light up the whole arena. We placed them in the second floor around the perimeter of the arena. This allowed us to have a good camera frame from the back of the artists.
- DTS Synergy 7 were used for the back light which also allowed us to create the main lighting effect during the concert. It looked as a wave of light leaning towards the artists.
- MDG ATMe - MDG Fog are the perfect machines for concert fog that are also suitable for TV cameras.
- DTS SYNERGY 5 PROFILE were used to light up the artists on stage.
- DTS Brick were used as a strobe and as a flood light on stage.
- Lighting control desk- Hog 4 - High End Systems. We work with this console with all of our main projects. It has proven itself to be a great tool to perform all of the ideas we come up with.

"The movement and the colors were set to a minimalist level. The priority was the intensity of the lighting flow and to find a balance for it so that we could use the equipment throughout the show. There were no more than two different colors during one song. And the moving effects were simple and light. So that they could be easily spotted by the audience. The goal is to empower the music even more. So that the listener would have the full experience of a live show. If the music moves in sync with the lighting it always has a stronger effect on people. In a way the artist and his or hers music always dictates the scenography," Buinauskas notes.
