LDI Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Industry Party, KOI Awards, And Exciting Innovations

Flashback To The 80s With The Spazmatics and Metal Shop at LDI’s 30th Anniversary Party at LDI: Live Outside

LDI2018 marks the 30th Anniversary of North America’s largest tradeshow and conference for design and technology for live events. Founded in 1988, with the first show in Dallas, TX, LDI has grown to host more than 350 exhibiting companies and close to 15,000 industry professionals.

The 30th Anniversary celebration includes LDI’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Concert & Party on Friday, October 19, 6pm-9pm on the LDI: Live Outside festival stages—provided by AG Light and Sound, Stageline, and Apex—with dancing to two throwback bands, The Spazmatics and Metal Shop, that bring back all the hits of the 80s. Plus, DJs will top off the evening, with free beer and food trucks to complete the experience in the Silver Parking Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center; free admission to all LDI attendees with a badge. For complete information about LDI: Live Outside, which features two full days of cutting-edge gear demos and remains open through 8pm Saturday evening, visit the LDI website.

Additional innovations at LDI2018 include:

KOI-USA Awards: A prestigious awards event in the UK for the past decade, the KOI-USA Awards will be presented to lighting and video designers at a by-invitation-only ceremony on Saturday, October 20. For complete information about this year’s event and shortlisted designers, visit the KOI-USA website.

The same is true for the LDI Debuting Products and Booth Awards, which will be decided by our independent judging panels, and presented to the winning companies on Sunday, October 21 at their individual booths with photo ops with the winners.

New Location For New Technology Breakfasts: In a bold, exciting move, LDI’s three New Technology Breakfasts will now be held in an air-conditioned, high-tech pavilion at LDI: Live Outside in the Silver Parking Lot. These well-attended events showcase new technology to be found on the LDI2018 exhibit floor:
