Live Design Launches Impact Committee with Industry Initiatives

New York, NY – For 30 years, Live Design has been honored to be a part of the entertainment design and technology community, working alongside creative and innovative live event professionals and product experts who bring exciting experiences to life. To give back to this community, Live Design has established an Impact Committee to pursue its ultimate purpose of inspiring the art and design of live experiences.

Live Design’s Impact Committee aims to inspire and inform the live entertainment design industry so that the professionals, in turn, can utilize their creativity, expertise, and diverse perspectives to inspire meaningful experiences with other people and communities. Live Design will concentrate its outreach programs within several pillars of purpose:

Connecting communities through the joy and possibility within live experiences

Live Design will bring the outside world behind the scenes of this exciting industry, immersing people in our world of art and storytelling and inspiring future generations to share their stories.

Enhancing the industry through differentiating perspectives from diverse and inclusive voices

Live Design will support and help grow the next generation of live event professionals from all backgrounds, genders, races, ethnicities, ages, religions, orientations, and political beliefs, deepening the impact of our art and enriching the story and creativity of our industry.

Empowering professionals with the most innovative tools and techniques

Live Design and Live Design International (LDI) will showcase cutting-edge technology and the latest designs to best educate and inform professionals of the newest trends and innovations in the live entertainment design industry.

“We are excited to launch the Impact Committee as an entity that is pledged to inspiring this industry and the communities beyond,” says David Johnson, managing director of the LDI/Live Design franchise. “There is so much joy and passion in this industry, and we want to help share that with others.”

The Impact Committee will announce initiatives in each of the pillars in the weeks leading up to LDI2018, to be held October 15-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Each of the initiatives will directly influence Live Design’s purpose of inspiring the art and design of live experiences.

As the leading conference and tradeshow for live design professionals from all around the globe, LDI hosts over 14,000 members of the production community, working in a wide range of international live and broadcast venues – festivals, corporate events, theatre, concerts, clubs, theme parks, architainment, and houses of worship.
