The Production Manager assists and helps to lead and facilitate the daily operations and administration of the production department in support of the mission, artistic vision, and fiscal sustainability of the company.

  • Work with production staff and department heads to coordinate and implement schedules for pre-production deadlines, rehearsals, load-in, tech, performances and load-out
  • Schedule and lead creative team and production meetings as assigned; guide design development and implementation to achieve artistic and administrative goals with available resources, staffing and scheduling parameters
  • Provide on-site support during load-ins, tech, previews and load-outs for productions; represent ACCA in work with production teams to reconcile challenges
  • Proficiency in multiple areas of technical theatre (scenery, lighting, and media) preferred

Starting salary:  $53,000

RIT seeks an outstanding artist, scholar, and teacher with primary expertise in projection design for live theatre, dance, and music performance. Candidates will have an MFA in projection design, theatrical design and/or theatre technology. Candidates should have university-level teaching experience; demonstrated collaborative design and technical experience in university productions, professional theatre, and/or relevant entertainment venues; and demonstrated experience with current projection and lighting technology.

The candidate will have the opportunity to design, develop, and teach new courses in projection design, lighting design and theatre technology. A major component of the work will be designing one to two productions per semester as well as occasional projection design for musical concerts and dance productions. The candidate will supervise and mentor students in design and technology, including support for student designers and technicians on production assignments. 

The Project Manager is responsible for the quality and budget of the projects delivered by the team. The experienced Project Manager manages key client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Supervise and monitor project teams and other projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects.

  • 5+ years Project management experience or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with developing projects and overseeing project teams
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
