Questex is seeking an account executive to join the LDI/Live Design/DSE team.

We are a high-energy, high-impact group known for our creative ideas, dependable execution, and unmatched results, as well as being a fun bunch to work with!  As an account executive, you will serve as a strategic marketing consultant to your clients in the live events industry. We help our clients achieve their marketing objectives across multiple formats, including our annual trade show in Las Vegas, LDI.

The ideal candidate has experience working with clients on B2B marketing or events. You will be responsible for managing and developing a sales territory and working all phases of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. In addition, we are looking for the account executive to participate in sales strategy and contribute ideas to develop new revenue opportunities and customer bases.

With an increased focus on reaching key end-user markets for digital solutions and experiences, DSE will harness other audiences and platforms in hotels, hospitality, travel, healthcare, entertainment, education, sensors and communications technology and more.

As our account executive, you’ll support Questex’s success by: 

  • Meets or exceeds forecasted sales (digital, marketing services, trade show/conference platforms) 
  • Satisfies the needs of clients using a consultative selling style while being personable, professional and accommodating in manner.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the market and culture in order to attract new customers/business.
  • Performs extensive research on marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts (tiered) for follow-up process.
  • Confers with sales management and other sales staff to develop growth opportunities.
  • Maintains strong industry credibility through visible attendance at trade shows and other product presentations, staying updated on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts.
  • Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned properties in assigned tier of customer categories and determines actions to be taken on certain tier accounts.
  • Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings.
  • Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Forecasts and reports revenue by maintaining sales pipelines within assigned territory.

Your experience and education include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years sales experience, preferably in a trade show/media environment.
  • Understands issues relevant to the organizations/groups market and industry
  • Listens to and understands internal/external customers and supplier expectations, needs and wants.
  • Detail oriented and able to work closely with other sales representatives as well as other departments.
  • Proficiency with a variety of software packages, including Excel and Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Salesforce.com experience a plus.
