A Look into the Numbers: Travis Scott's Second-Annual Astroworld Festival

This year, Astroworld Festival, taking place on November 9 at NRG Park in Houston, sold out of 50,000 tickets weeks in advance, without announcing a lineup. Last year’s fest – which topped out at 40,000 tickets sold without a lineup announcement until the day before gates opened – included Post Malone, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and a headlining performance by Scott.

Former LouFest Vendor Sues Festival For Defamation, Alleging Damage To Reputation

In a lawsuit filed in St. Louis Circuit Court, Valley Park-based Logic Systems, a sound and lighting company led by Howard “Chip” Self, accused LouFest promoter Listen Live Entertainment and its principal, Mike Van Hee, of defamation, malicious prosecution and abuse of process.

Logic Systems was among the vendors that pulled out of the 2018 festival about a week before it was due to kick off, citing Listen Live Entertainment’s history of late or missing payments to contractors for LouFest and other events. St. Louis Public Radio first reported the vendors' writhdrawal days before the festival was to begin.

Europe’s biggest gay festival is coming to Miami this Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving is a glorious time to revel at a rainbow of rollicking events hosted by Circuit Festival Miami, a massive five-night, four-day fiesta. The event comes to Miami by way of Barcelona, where it has been Europe’s largest gay festival since 2008.

Produced by Luis Morera, Billy Kemp and Hilton Wolman, the team behind the popular Miami party brand URGE, the festivities kick off Thanksgiving night with an opening party at Cameo.

“Bumbershoot will return,” organizers say, after AEG pulls out of festival

Bumbershoot has been a long-time Labor Day institution in Seattle, WA, and since its 2015 edition, with AEG Live as lead promoter. Its future is now uncertain, though; as Crosscut reports, AEG has pulled out of its role. AEG Pacific Northwest Vice President Rob Thomas confirmed the news in a statement, saying, “Bumbershoot is a cultural fixture and an important part of our community. We worked tirelessly to come up with a long-term solution to remain involved, but came to the conclusion that we were unable to renew our contract at this juncture. We have had five wonderful years working with One Reel and the city of Seattle on creating some memorable Bumbershoot moments, and we want to thank everyone involved for allowing us to play a part in that.”

It looks like the Festival of Brexit is still going ahead

The event, which was first touted under Theresa May’s government, was described as a showcase for “the UK’s unique strengths in creativity and innovation” – with comparisons to the 1951 festival of Britain.

Despite being dubbed “The festival of Brexit” by critics,  The Guardian reports that Dean Creamer, a delivery director for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, has been tasked with planning the £120m project.

Set to take place in 2022, the event will reportedly deliver an “exciting programme” of arts, culture, design and technology in the same year as the Queen’s platinum jubilee and the 100th anniversary of the BBC.

Kanye West’s Sunday Service Brunch Is Being Compared To Fyre Festival

Attendees of “Brunchella” may have felt bamboozled, hoodwinked, and led astray. Kanye West’s latest Sunday Service concert is drawing Fyre Festival comparisons. On Friday, Nov. 1, the “Jesus Walks” rapper and his Sunday Service choir performed at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to promote his newest album, Jesus is King. While admissions for the concert was free, guests were given the opportunity to opt for a $55 “Brunchella” breakfast buffet, which would raise money for the church, according to Entertainment Tonight.
