Unique2 Hazer Choice Of Denver Center For The Performing Arts

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) has taken delivery of Look Solutions ’ Unique2 Hazer from dealer Barbizon Light of the Rockies. The haze machine requires minimal warm up time and operates with minimal noise. It produces a variable output from the finest mist to a thick haze, so it is able to fill small and big rooms or halls with a constant haze, creating the right atmosphere and supporting lighting effects.

The DCPA is a showcase for live theatre, a nurturing ground for new plays, a stop on the Broadway touring circuit, an award-winning multimedia production facility, and a national training school for actors. Currently, DCPA is using the Unique2 in the 10,000-sq-ft ballroom where it provides atmosphere for moving lights illuminating the dance floor for special events, concerts, and small theatrical shows. “Our moving lights had never been noticed much before when they were just moving lights on their own,” notes Steve Mieremet, the in-house lighting designer/master electrician at DCPA's Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom. “But we never had a really good hazer until now. The Unique is working great. It’s easy to deal with and is preprogrammed for a DMX channel; just plug it in, turn it on, and it’s ready to go. The Unique can also fill the room in seconds if necessary.”

"We are game with this hazer,” says Seawell Ballroom technical director, Brook Nichols. “It does a fantastic job for us and does some things we were not expecting. The control we have with this hazer is the best we have used I think we’ll be using the Unique all the time, and I would recommend it to anyone.”

Barbizon’s Mark Orosz, who sold the Unique2 to the DCPA, has been having great success with the hazer. “Everyone we’ve sold it to has absolutely loved the unit,” he reports. “The fact that the Unique is water-based and runs 50 hours per two liter-canister make it much better than other water-based hazers. It delivers more bang for the buck.”
