Sunday In The Park With George Tops Olivier Awards

The recent UK revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park With George swept the 2007 Laurence Olivier Awards, which were presented on Sunday, February 18. Produced by the Menier Chocolate Factory at Wyndham’s Theatre in London, Sunday in the Park With George won in five of the six categories in which is was nominated, including Best Lighting Design and Best Set Design — not to mention Outstanding Musical Production.

Set designers for Sunday in the Park With George, David Farley and Timothy Bird, also won an Evening Standard Award for their work on the musical, and in early 2006 picked up the Critics’ Circle Award for the pre-West End run of the show at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
