NYU Showcases The Future of Design

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see the future. NYU's Tisch School of the Arts is giving designers and industry professionals the chance again this year, when it showcases the Department of Design for Stage and Film's 2005 MFA graduating designers May 4-11 (noon to 8pm). The portfolio exhibits — in the form of sketches, set models, professional production photos, and costume displays — illustrate the potential of the 22 graduates in lighting, set, and costume design. This year's showcase features the work of two set/costume, one set/film, one costume/film, nine set, four costume, and five lighting designers. A preview (2-5pm) and an opening reception (5-8pm) will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2005. There will be an additional session with the graduating students present on Saturday, May 7th from 2pm to 5pm.

To catch a glimpse at the designers of tomorrow, visit the student showcase at Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Design for Stage and Film, 721 Broadway. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call (212) 998-1950.
