LCS Audio Co-founders Assume New Roles At Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound has announced that LCS Audio co-founders John McMahon and Steve Ellison have assumed the roles of executive director, LCS Series, and applications director, LCS Series at Meyer Sound, respectively. In his new role, McMahon will maintain direct involvement with most aspects of LCS Series products, including product development, and management of the Canadian office, while Ellison will work closely with customers, with a particular focus on the consultant community.

These appointments are part of the continuing process of integrating existing LCS Audio staff and products into Meyer Sound’s structure that began with Meyer Sound’s acquisition of LCS Audio in 2005. Other changes include the integration of LCS Audio products into Meyer Sound’s product line to become the LCS Series, joining such well-known product series as the M Series, UltraSeries, and Concert Series.

Additionally, the former LCS Audio offices in Vernon, Canada and Sierra Madre, CA, are now Meyer Sound offices, with all staff being retained as Meyer Sound employees.

In another step aimed at bringing LCS Series products to more customers, Jerry Placken has joined Meyer Sound as sales manager, LCS Series. Placken has extensive experience with the LCS Series products from his tenure at White Radio, which was LCS Audio’s Canadian distributor. Placken also bears considerable technical acumen acquired while earning a Music Engineering Technology degree from the acclaimed program at the University of Miami (Fla.).

The flagship of the LCS Series is the Matrix3™ audio control system, which, used in conjunction with Meyer Sound’s self-powered loudspeaker systems, provides a complete audio signal path for sophisticated installations and theatrical productions.
