With a cast of over 300, 60' tall puppets, and all the challenges of producing work outdoors, Tyler Micoleau’s stunning lighting design conveyed the power of community. It unified and amplified Alan Menken’s story, and highlighted Lear deBessonet’s direction and Chase Brock’s choreography. It was subtle, fluid, and at times, laser-focused.

“Gorgeous work. Seeing it sure makes me miss the theater! Tyler Micoleau’s work for this outdoor space in Central Park is bright and fun. He elevates a show that is built around a kind of ‘community festival’ idea with smart and bold choices in both color and angle.” — Clifton Taylor, lighting designer and judge for the Design Achievement Awards
