Hadestown Transforms New York Theatre Workshop

New York Theatre Workshop has been transformed for its new production: Hadestown, created by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and two-time Obie award-winning director Rachel Chavkin (Three Pianos; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812). Defined as a folk opera, based on Mitchell's "phenomenal concept album" (Rolling Stone), Hadestown follows Orpheus' mythical quest to overcome Hades and regain the favor of his one true love, Eurydice. The production is designed by: Rachel Hauck (sets), Michael Krass (costumes), Bradley King (lighting), and Robert Kaplowitz (sound). Hadestown runs through July 3, 2016.
