Donna Appleton Retires from Strand Lighting

Strand Lighting has announced that Donna Appleton will be retiring from Strand at the end of this month, following 27 years with the organization.

Appleton is an industry figure, loved and respected in Canada, North America, and the world during her long career, for her deep understanding of product, customers, and the lighting industry, as well as her matchless leadership and coaching skills. Following an early career for Jack A. Frost Ltd., a sales and rental house in Toronto, where she learned all aspects of the business, Appleton joined then Strand Century Canada in 1979, as Motion Picture and TV Product Manager. Film and TV has always been close to her heart, and Appleton has been deeply connected with the Quartzcolor product line from that day to this. In 1988,her qualities were recognized in her appointment as pesident of Strand Lighting Canada, a post she has held until the present day. It is probably true that, in terms of market share, Canada has led the whole group for many years, and this is due in no small part to Appleton 's leadership, as well as the position of respect and trust in which she is held by the Canadian professional lighting community.

As a crowning achievement to Appleton's career with Strand Lighting, the Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts, the largest sine wave dimming installation in the Americas, is now in the final stages of handover in her beloved home town of Toronto.
