Design Gallery: Debra Dumas' Design for Street Scene

When Debra Dumas, Adelphi University Performing Arts production adjunct faculty, oversaw the lighting design of the University's production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Street Scene, she took on the challenge of creating a sunrise onstage against the large building structure that went from the floor to the ceiling. She casted a unique shadow that crawled down and filled the entire building from the fictional building across the street. For the effect, Dumas used two Vari-Lite VL1000 TS fixtures, one with a custom gobo from Rosco.
