If you think of Clint Ramos as a Tony Award-winning costume designer, whose recent Broadway productions include the current revival of Once On This Island, recent revivals of Six Degrees Of Separation, and Sunday In The Park With George, as well as the new play, Eclipsed (his Tony win), you are right. But think again.
Ramos is also an accomplished scenic designer, and this season, he did the sets for two world premieres of new plays Off-Broadway: Mankind that recently closed at Playwrights Horizons, and MCC Theatre’s Relevance at the Lucille Lortel, opening this month. “I just did the sets for both, not the costumes this time,” says Ramos. “Only a few designers in the US do both and more and more, rarely both simultaneously.”
