DePaul University Theatre School Hosts 18th Annual Awards For Excellence In The Arts

The Theatre School at DePaul University’s 18th Annual Awards for Excellence in the Arts will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 6–10pm, at The Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago. Theatre School alumnus Scott Ellis, associate artistic director of New York’s Roundabout Theatre Company and a four-time Tony Award nominee, will be the evening’s host and master of ceremonies.

The event raises scholarship money for students and will honor two-time Tony Award-winning actor Brian Dennehy (Death of a Salesman, Long Day’s Journey Into Night), Tony Award-winning actress and The Cosby Show star Phylicia Rashad (Raisin in the Sun) and Theatre School alumna Judy Greer (BFA ’97, American Dreamz, Elizabethtown).

BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois will receive the 2006 Corporate Award for Excellence in the Arts, to be accepted by Raymond F. McCaskey, CEO. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, student performances, awards presentation, a live auction, a raffle, and dancing.
