The Artist Co-Op To Present And Live Stream “Sexual Harassment In The Theatre”

The Artist Co-op (TAC) will be holding its first live community conversation, “Sexual Harassment in the Theatre,” on January 19, 2018, hosted by Claire Karpen (actress and director working with TimesUp movement and a National Councilor of Actor’s Equity) and streamed live via Facebook.

The hour-long panel will feature industry thought leaders Diana Oh (performer/actor/singer-songwriter/theatremaker/artist of color working to queer the world with her radical non-complacency), Shakina Nayfack, (actress, activist and founding artistic director of Musical Theatre Factory), and Alexis Williams (literary agent at Bret Adams Artists Agency), with Robin Sokoloff, founder and executive director of Town Stages, serving as a community counselor.

The panel will address the systems that allow sexual harassment, misconduct, and abuse to be able to persist in the theatre, and will discuss possible solutions to dismantle this negative behavior. This is the first of what will become a monthly series of conversations, hosted by TAC, that focus on timely issues in the entertainment community.

Watch the panel live on Friday from 12 pm to - 12:45 pm EST, followed by a discussion from 1 pm to 2 pm.
