Vision Technical Group Lights The Black Party Rave

Philadelphia-based Vision Technical Group (VTG) provided lighting, rigging, staging, and video projection to The Black Party, an 18-hour dance rave held on March 25 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Produced by the underground dance party The Saint At Large, the event is one of New York City’s oldest dance parties that attracts thousands of international revelers.

The 2006 show–which featured the musical stylings of Grammy-Award winning artist Peter Rauhofer and Israeli DJ Offer Nissim–had a light extravanga programmed by Guy Smith of Guy Smith Lighting Design. The “Black Party” lighting equipment included 48 Coemar LED Pars and four Coemar Super Cycs. The Saint At Large continues to break new ground by weaving a subversive narrative arc, state-of-the-art visual technology, progressive dance music and cutting-edge sets and costumes into its immersive theatrical experiences, for which Coemar’s lights brought added theatrical flair.
