PRG At Disney-ABC’s 2007 Upfront Event

When Disney-ABC Television Group previewed its new fall lineup of children’s programming at its 2007 Upfront event earlier this month, all eyes were on the shows and their corporate presenters. PRG provided video and audio equipment and crew for the event, staged for a select group of 600 top advertisers and media buyers at New York’s Hudson Theatre.

“On every job we do, no matter the size, our goal is to showcase the event and the performers while making things smooth and hassle-free for the client,” observes Jere Harris, founder and president of PRG. “This includes providing an appropriate level of production and technology plus the expertise to ensure that everything runs as it should.”

Featuring special appearances by The Cheetah Girls and Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana, the event also offered clips of new programming as well as comments from company executives.

Working with technical consultants Eric Tetuan and Tom Bussey of Production Glue, LLC, PRG assembled a compact three camera video package featuring a Di-VentiX™ high resolution switcher and two Digital Projection, Inc. Lightning 35 HD projectors on a 15 foot by 20 foot screen to guarantee a presentation that was both seamless and high-impact.

The audio system, also provided by PRG, included a Yamaha PM5D front of house console; Shure wireless microphones and in-ear monitors for the performers and presenters; and a Meyer Sound amplification system consisting of M1D ultra-compact curvilinear array loudspeakers, 650-P High-Power Subwoofers, UPM ultra-compact wide coverage loudspeakers, and UPJ compact VariO loudspeakers. PRG Audio also provided the equipment and crew for the after-party.

“Production Glue specified their needs and we put together a complete package of equipment and services that met their requirements,” says Art Lavis, PRG’s general manager for video at the company’s Mount Vernon, New York location. “We took care of the details so that our client could focus on the bigger picture of the presentation.”

PRG supplied a similar package to Audio Production Services for Yahoo’s Infront presentation to advertisers and media buyers later in February.
