Look Solutions’ Tiny-Fogger Helps Create Magic Onstage

Loren Kahn Puppet & Object Theatre, a touring company based in Albuquerque, NM, has found Look Solutions’ Tiny-Fogger the perfect choice for two new productions. Loren Kahn Puppet & Object Theatre bridges theater, visual art, and puppetry and brings to life a hilarious and magical world for children and adults alike. The company is composed of Isabelle Kessler, from France, and Loren Kahn, from the US.

Kessler purchased the palm-sized Tiny-Fogger, the tiniest fog generator in the world, to use in What a Choice! a one-woman object theater piece for adults where objects partner the actor and serve as metaphors and symbols. “The show tends to ask questions more than give answers,” she explains. “A woman is afloat in a Zodiac lifeboat; atop sawhorses that doesn’t go anywhere. But things happen in the boat, including fire. We needed the Tiny-Fogger to help create that illusion.”

The battery-operated Tiny-Fogger can be easily built into costumes and props. Its programmable microprocessor controls fog emission; a special fluid ensures that dense fog is produced with the lowest of fluid consumption. The battery and fluid tank are so small that they can also be housed within sets and costumes.

The Tiny-Fogger may be triggered directly at the machine, with a small remote, or with an optional radio remote. Its intelligent control mechanism means the battery supplies energy only when necessary greatly increasing the fog time.

Kahn and Kessler also deploy the Tiny-Fogger in Billy Goat Ballad, an adaptation of a French novel, created for children ages nine and above and their families. It’s currently touring New Mexico and beyond. “We move the Tiny Fogger back and forth above the stage during a train simulation, when the curtains change. We love it.”
