Electrosonic Group has announced that Jim Evans joining the company as manager, business development and consultant relations for the North American Video Display Solutions (VDS) business as of June 1, 2006.
“I’m very happy to be working with Jim again,” says VDS general manager Alan Dresner, who was a former manager of Evans’s at Christie Digital. “Jim brings a wealth of experience and industry relationships to our group. He will be responsible for vertical market business development for solutions and products as well as supporting AV and vertical market consultants and architects as Electrosonic successfully leverages its Quantum, Matrix and Glimpse products across numerous application areas.”
Evans comes to Electrosonic after two years as senior manager, consultant relations with Christie Digital, where he was responsible for revitalizing contacts and communication channels with AV consultants nationwide as well as spearheading development of numerous large, high profile projects for the company.
Prior to that time Evans served as national AV channel manager for PolyVision. Earlier, he spent five years with NEC Solutions (America) as Mid-Atlantic district sales manager and then NEC’s government sales manager, and four years with Hughes-JVC Technology Corp. as Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager and government sales manager.
“I see Electrosonic as a cutting-edge company that’s doing something different, something many companies hope to emulate but few can,” says Evans. “This parleys with my experience in military and command and control, and laying groundwork with clients. I hope to contribute to getting the message out about Electrosonic’s great strengths into the different market segments where the company is a player, and educating potential users and clients.”
