Working with Scena Projects, Ltd., Tomcat UK created four larger-than-life holiday presents for outdoor displays for the Bluewater Shopping Center in Kent, England. The expansive shopping complex consists of three shopping areas, each with its own “village” and receives 27 million visitors a year. All four giant gifts were finished just in time to set the scene during the 2007 holiday season.
When Scena Projects was asked to build four presents 20-feet high they turned to designers at Harriman Steel and Tomcat UK for help achieve this vision. For its part, Tomcat UK manufactured the framework, which consisted of a Tomcat One aluminum trussing system with counter weights for each of the presents. To complete the look, Vinyl Graphic Coverings were bound to the truss and a 28-foot metal bow was bolted to the top.
