Broadcast facilities provider All Mobile Video, Inc. (AMV) was on location supporting the live Miss USA telecast with production, editorial, and transmission services.
With an estimated 75 million viewers tuned in worldwide, 21-year-old Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina was crowned ‘Miss USA 2005’ on Monday, April 11.
The pageant was staged at the Hippodrome, part of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, MD. This year’s event, produced by Donald Trump and broadcast via NBC, marked the 54th time that the Miss Universe Organization has held the annual national competition.
For this particular event, AMV’s multi-camera production solution included the deployment of its Celebrity mobile unit. Celebrity, which debuted in 1998 as the first all-digital (SDI video and AES audio) mobile production truck in the US, recently underwent an extensive upgrade that boosted its video facilities to HD and integrated a new Vista 8 digital live production console, the largest of its type ever assembled by Studer.

The console has so far proven reliable – including at the Miss USA pageant."
