Alex Hodges to Keynote EventPro Forum 2006

Veteran entertainment executive Alex Hodges will be the keynote speaker at EventPro Forum 2006, the fifth annual conference for live event production professionals, March 6- 8, 2006, at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

This power networking conference annually attracts key players responsible for producing live events worldwide for amphitheaters, arenas, auditoriums, casinos, concerts, corporate functions, fairs, festivals, political campaigns, sporting events, theme parks, and touring entertainment.

With more than three decades of experience in the live events industry, Hodges is executive vice president of House of Blues Concerts, Inc., which owns, operates or exclusively books arena and amphitheatre venues throughout North America, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Seattle, Atlanta, Cleveland, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

Hodges joined Universal Concerts (now HOB Concerts) in 1994 where he assumed the booking of the Universal Amphitheatre, as well as the training and supervision of talent buyers and the approval of offers and deals for talent at various House of Blues Concerts venues around the US.

His experience in the live event business began in talent representation. He was president of Paragon Agency, and then Empire Agency, before moving to Los Angeles and joining International Creative Management (ICM). Hodges was also senior vice president and head of the Los Angeles music department of ICM and vice president of the L.A. office of the Nederlander Organization, where he was responsible for concert programming at the Greek Theatre, Pacific Amphitheatre and the Arrowhead Pond before joining MCA/ Universal Concerts.

Hodges has represented such well known artists as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Percy Sledge, Clarence Carter, Gregg Allman, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Double Trouble, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Outlaws, Bobby Womack, John Denver, and Air Supply.
