2007 Rigging Seminar Schedule

Rigging Seminars has announced its 2007 Rigging Seminar schedule, offering both public seminars and private classes. Their classes have trained thousands of riggers nationwide, both beginners and advanced riggers, and the most popular part of every class is the hands-on practical training.

Attendees learn safe and efficient rigging techniques for sound, lighting, video, scenery, and special effects. The methods taught apply to theatres, circuses, arenas, stadiums, auditoriums, schools, hotels, museums, conference centers, outdoor venues, and studios.

The public seminars are as follows:

Las Vegas February 12th-16th
Boston April 10th-13th
Chicago July 9th-12th
Seattle October 8th-11th

Rigging Seminars are taught by three most experienced entertainment rigging instructors in America. They literally wrote the books on rigging.

Harry Donovan is both an engineer and one of the best-known riggers in the world. He wrote the widely used Entertainment Rigging book and created Rigright, the most comprehensive rigging software available. He has rigged more than 200,000 points over 36 years without a failure. He has rigged many large tours, such as Elton John, The Eagles, Rod Stewart, Paula Abdul, Bruce Springsteen, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith, and The Who, as well as all types of events and permanent sound, lighting, and museum installations. Donovan was instrumental in creating Rigging Certificates.

Jay Glerum has been doing, designing, teaching, and inspecting entertainment rigging for more than 45 years. He wrote the Stage Rigging Handbook. Glerum has taught technical theatre at several universities, consulted on numerous theatre and television studio projects, been a scenery and lighting designer, and worked as a systems engineer for a major theatre equipment company. He is an active member of the joint USITT and ESTA Rigging Standards Committee.

Rocky Paulson has been a major figure in arena rigging for more than 35 years. He has been responsible for many important advances, especially in safety and fall protection. He founded Stage Rigging, one of the foremost arena rigging companies in the world, and is lifetime member of the IATSE. Paulson was one of the original Entertainment Technician Certification program council members and a co-chairman of the Rigging Certification Committee.
