The ModTruss 6" aluminum truss series is the first generation of structural, non-welded truss components with a 100% extruded profile with end caps fastened with high strength fasteners. This eliminates all welding and therefore there are no heat-affected zones.
Heat affected zones in welded truss products are a source of stress and fatigue we have all lived with for years. This product eliminates the need for periodic weld inspections and allows us to retain 100% of the rated value of the aluminum product.
In addition, the reinforced gusseted profile adds cross section material at the thinnest point of the truss for greater strength and capacity. The end caps have been reinforced so they no longer require washer plates on the end to end connections. This enables an overall reduction in the amount of hardware needed to assemble.
To our knowledge, this is the first aluminum truss product of its kind to meet the no weld initiative. By taking out the welding, warping and deflection caused by the manufacturing process has been eliminated. The tolerances for length and squareness have been brought to a completely new level of accuracy.
