How To Make Your Voice Heard In Standards, Part Two

Following up Part One, the session is a how-to guide on how to make a person’s voice heard in all the different standards organizations that affect the entertainment design industry. The safety standards they write affect how people can do their work, and also affects how the equipment that is used works. Included will be NFPA, UL, and PLASA standards, as well as others. The session would show attendees where to go to make comments or proposals, what sort of language and rationale is typically included in proposals to make the point clear, how to get draft versions of documents, and how to apply for membership or voting status in these organizations.

Moderator: Ty Mellon, Lex Products
