A major revival of The Music Man, with book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Willson, based on the story by Willson and Franklin Lacey, has inhabited Chicago’s Goodman Theatre since June 29. Directed by Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman who is celebrating 25 years as the Goodman’s Manilow Resident Director, the production was set to close August 11 but has been extended through August 18 due to its popularity. Housed in Goodman’s Albert Theatre, The Music Man features a creative team comprising set designer Daniel Ostling, lighting designer T.J. Gerckens, sound designer Ray Nardelli, costume designer Ana Kuzmanic, and choreographer Denis Jones.
