Setting The Broadway Revival Of My Fair Lady

The Broadway revival of My Fair Lady has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Michael Yeargan's work for Best Scenic Design of a Musical. “It is kind of a shock,” he admits. “You just are always surprised by it, and it is nice to be honored like that.”

Over a year ago, Yeargan was invited to join the creative team for the musical. “I feel like I’ve been indentured to My Fair Lady ever since, and I’ve turned out a lot of work,” laughs the set designer. But it is all so worthwhile as the musical holds a special place in Yeargan’s heart. “It was the first musical I ever saw when I was a kid when it was on national tour,” says Yeargan, “and I thought it was one of the most amazing things I’d ever seen.”
