It's Throwback Thursday for LDI's Plot Of The Week series, and since a new Metallica concert film has recently been released, we dug in our vaults to find some Metallica plots.
When Metallica set out on their current WorldWired Tour, with dates announced in Europe through May 2018, Rob Koenig collaborated with show director/designer Dan Braun to create a compelling lighting design that solves the in-the-round arena set-up for the tour. Koenig, who has worked with the band since 2008, continues in his role as lighting director, as well as designer, running every show live on an MA Lighting grandMA2 console. He has shared his light plots with Live Design, illustrating the highly automated rig and the use of Spotrack for 20 automated Robe BFML wash beams, the same fixture found inside the 52 kinetic video cubes on the set, built by TAIT.
Click through the gallery to view the plots, and check out the 99 micro drones in Metallica WorldWired, Part One, the in-the-round staging in Part Two, and the lighting design in Part Three.
