Designer Tobias Rylander worked on the latest tour for The 1975, the ABIIOR World Tour, in support of the band’s third album, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. Rylander contributed conceptual and lighting design for the tour, working with frontman Matty Healy, resulting in a production that NME calls “a stunning sensory assault in beautiful pictures.” Rylander’s stage design includes moving LED cubes made up of VER WinVision Air 9mm tiles, as well as an LED tunnel complete with a door, a treadmill built into the downstage edge, a frame roof comprising VER Revolution Blade HD and HD Mini LED Strips, as well as Revolution Blade frames bookending the stage. The lighting rig includes Claypaky Sharpy Wash 330s, GLP impression X4 Bar 20s, GLP JDC1 Strobes, Martin by Harman MAC Vipers and Performance lighting fixtures, Robe BMFL Blades with a RoboSpot™ system, and SGMQ-10 Strobes.
