“I was in tech for Beetlejuice, on my dinner break when I got a phone call from Glenn Weiss, who I know from the Tony Awards,” recalls creative director and designer David Korins, who designed the 91st Academy Awards, broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, February 24, 2019. “I swallowed the piece of sushi I was eating, and said ‘yes.’ There are only five or six jobs that are such great opportunities, and you really want to do them,” notes the designer.
