To celebrate the achievements of 2018 and to welcome all the prospects of 2019, Live Design is conducting 31 Days Of Plots. Every day during the month of December 2018, we will highlight a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, and more.
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, the musical, started at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco in 2004 and was an immediate hit. The following year, there were three companies and the year after that added a UK touring company. In the 15 years since, it has played on Broadway twice and the West End once.
The 2018 national US tour, directed and choreographed by Randy Skinner, opened in November and finishes in Miami on December 30. Based on the classic film of the same name, the musical has a score full of Irving Berlin classic songs. The creative team includes lighting designer Ken Billington, set designer Anna Louizos with set adaptation by Kenneth Foy, costume designer Carrie Robbins, and sound designer Keith Caggiano.
