31 Days of Plots: Opening Ceremony of Ad Diriyah

To celebrate the achievements of 2019 and to welcome all the prospects of 2020, Live Design is conducting 31 Days Of Plots. Every day during the month of December 2019, we will highlight a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, and more.

His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud laid the cornerstone for the launch of Ad Diriyah, the birthplace of the Saudi Kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on November 20, celebrated with a dazzling Opening Ceremony produced and directed by Executive Visions of Atlanta, Los Angeles and Dubai. Partnering with Jerry Inzerillo, Chairman of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, executive producers Michael Marto and Omar Saab led an international team of creatives.

John Featherstone, partner and principal at Lightswitch, shares the lighting plots for the production's stunning ground-based lighting. Click through the slideshow to view.

Check out other plots from the 31 Days here, and stay tuned for more over the next 17 days.
