31 Days of Plots: The Lion King's Almost-All-LED UK Tour

lighting design for the 2019 The Lion King UK tour

To celebrate the achievements of 2019 and to welcome all the prospects of 2020, Live Design is conducting 31 Days Of Plots. Every day during the month of December 2019, we will highlight a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, and more.

Currently at Edinburgh Playhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland, the UK tour of Disney's long-running musical, The Lion King, runs through the fall of 2020, in celebration of the show's 20th anniversary in London. The lighting by Tony Award-winner Don Holder has been streamlined and updated to use almost entirely LED lighting fixtures, making it both technologically advanced and energy efficient. Take a look at the light plots in the slide show, and stay tuned for more on Holder's lighting design for The Lion King circa 2019.

Check out other plots from the 31 Days here, and stay tuned for more over the next 18 days.
