Sideline Productions Powers Second Annual Pro Am Jam With Daktronics Displays

BROOKINGS, S.D. – July 19, 2013 – The second annual First Dakota National Bank Pro Am Jam took place in Sioux Falls, S.D., from July 11 through July 14 with golf, live music and LED video displays to enhance the experience. Sideline Productions provided three displays composed of PST-10 SMD panels from Daktronics (Nasdaq – DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., which were spread out at Westward Ho Country Club to provide live scoring, sponsor messages and live interactive feeds from Twitter and Instagram.

The Pro Am Jam is golf competition and concert event that supports The First Tee of South Dakota, a non-profit youth development organization that aims to improve the lives of young people by providing educational programs, learning environments and healthy habits that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

“The video boards provided both live scoring and unique visibility for event sponsors,” said Mike Ness, President of First Dakota National Bank in Sioux Falls, the event’s leading sponsor. “It elevated the event brand and player and spectator experience immensely. Click Rain’s (a Sioux Falls company specializing in online marketing) interactive content and scoring was extensive, and Sideline Productions video board’s response was remarkable.”

Two 6-foot-high by 8-foot-wide video displays featuring 10 millimeter line spacing were located on the golf course, one at the halfway house next to the practice putting green and one at the green of hole 13. In these high traffic areas golfers and fans were able to keep up with the live scores and see additional information during the rounds. The images on the displays remained vibrant and stood out while in direct sunlight.

The third video display measured 9 feet high by 16 feet wide and also featured 10 millimeter line spacing. The display hung to the right of the stage in the pool area for the concerts on Friday and Saturday night. It provided the same scoring, sponsor and interactive information as the other displays but also provided additional content as Third Eye Blind and Big & Rich performed on Saturday night.

“It’s always great to see how audiences engage and interact with our screens, and the positive impact a high-quality display provides at an event like this,” said Nick Schmeichel, President of Sideline Productions. “From fan Tweets and Instagram posts to live scoring and sponsor spots, the displays deliver a crisp image that represents our clients well.”
