Scharff Weisberg Hosts Yamaha Digital Audio Consoles Training Seminar

Putting years of experience in the audio industry to the work, in early March Scharff Weisberg hosted an in-depth training seminar on the new Yamaha PM5D digital mixing console, now available at Scharff Weisberg for rent or purchase.

"I asked Yamaha to bring someone in to do training because digital technology is much different from analog, and it’s becoming very important to our industry," comments Scharff Weisberg vice president Scott Schachter. "We will continue to do training and high-level demos on other new and exciting products as they come to the market."

Although analog consoles were once the only accepted means of handling serious sound reinforcement applications, high-performance digital consoles, such as the Yamaha PM1D, now are particularly in demand for applications where programmability and recall capability are of monumental importance.

Attending were Scharff Weisberg audio engineers, New York’s top mixers, and owners of sound and sound-provider companies, and other audio luminaries. "We went fairly deep into the console and its technical functions," noted Yamaha district manager Bob Quinones. "It was more than just an operational seminar. It was a real ‘insiders tour.’"

The PM5D series digital mixing are smaller cousins to the Yamaha PM1D and offer state-of-the-art digital performance for a broader range of SR applications requiring a more dedicated control surface than the DM2000. They also offer a systems solution that can enhance the entire sound production process from input to output through integration with digital devices such as the DME64N and AD8HR.
