PRG Supports 2004 Billboard Music Awards

Production Resource Group (PRG) provided a complete lighting system and scenic services for the 2004 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. All services provided by PRG came from the company's 200,000 sq. ft., multi-service, local support center.

Lighting designer Simon Miles specified a package that included: ETC Virtuoso and Obsession control consoles, Martin MAC 2000 wash units, VARI*LITE VL5s, VL5 Arcs, VL6Cs, VL1000s™, VL2000™ wash units, VL3000™ spot units, Super Troupers, Lycian Starklites, ETC Pars, ETC Lekos, Kino Flos, MR16 strip lights, and a variety of other lighting equipment.

The set, designed by production designer Roy Bennett and art director Anne Brahic, featured dramatic artist entrance tunnels, steel and Plexiglas towers, and sweeping walls with internal lighting effects. The set design incorporated numerous mountings for Kino Flos and other lighting instruments. PRG's lighting and scenic teams worked closely together in the delivery of the company's services.

The Billboard Music Awards recognize each year's leading artists and songs as determined by their actual performance on Billboard's weekly ratings charts. This year's ceremony was held December 8 at the MGM Garden Grand Arena and was televised on Fox .
