Entertainment System On Carnival Valor Marks HMS’s 100th Installation

HMS, which offers services, systems, and components for entertainment and internal communication aboard passenger ships, has just completed its 100th installation aboard Carnival Valor, Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest cruise ship. HMS designed a full entertainment, broadcast, and TV distribution system for the new cruise ship, which was built in Monfalcone, Italy.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of this vessel. Being number 100 made this project that much more special," says Joel Koves, vice president of business development.

The latest Carnival Valor installation features state-of-the-art entertainment systems, which feature EAW speakers, Mechatronics rigging system, and lighting by High End Systems, ETC, and Wybron.

Carnival Valor began sailing the eastern and western Caribbean in December and is based at the Port of Miami and with a guest capacity of just under 3,000.

Prior to marking its 100th installation, HMS also supplied the complete entertainment package and installed the first planetarium ever designed for use at sea aboard Cunard’s new Queen Mary 2, which is the largest and most expensive ocean vessel ever built.

The tally of 100 projects does not include retrofits or refurbishings, which also comprise a significant portion of HMS’s business. More than 82% of the 100 new-from-the-ground-up projects have been for cruise ships; the balance of new-project clients include ferries, naval vessels, gas carriers, and super yachts.
