Mbox® Studio is a software-only media server application based upon the PRG Mbox EXtreme software that can be installed and operated on an Apple Mac®. Studio software operates identically to the Mbox in both movie playback effects and in transition functions; it is designed primarily for playback of SD content, but it can also handle HD content. It offers eight playback layers and a fully functional pixel mapping toolset. Users of Mbox Studio can also install Mbox Director™ on the same computer. It is a simple graphical user interface control application for programming a show using Mbox software. Director can be used to configure and control all aspects of Mbox Studio content and playback. A lighting console can also control Mbox Studio.
