A new form of entertainment - part boxing, part musical performance, part celebrity appearance - has hit and airwaves in the form of Triller Fight Club. This entertainment mash up is a new pay-per-view (PPV) event with the first one held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on April 17. PRG supplied lighting, LED, media servers, audio and crew services for the blowout boxing and music event, which combined epic design and performance elements to give a fresh take on the boxing format.
The Triller team sought to reinvent the sport with their event, which featured creative production design and felt like a party. PRG’s experience in sports, special events, and concert touring uniquely qualified them as a production partner for this new kind of hybrid production. The intention was to create a spectacle that could appeal to almost every demographic rather than boxing or music fans specifically.
On the boxing ring, YouTuber Jake Paul beat former MMA champion Ben Askren by TKO in less than two minutes in the featured showcase. West coast rap supergroup Mt. Westmore (Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too $hort) had their debut with a performance of their first single “Big Subwoofer.” Fans also enjoyed performances from Justin Bieber, The Black Keys, Doja Cat, Saweetie and Diplo.

PRG executed on lighting design from Tom Kenny with a flown lighting rig above the ring as well as a performance stage for the musical acts. The sprawling production setup covered almost the entirety of the stadium floor, with more than 1,500 lights and five rigs. PRG was a 360° resource for the production with the ability to provide and integrate multiple technical disciplines.
With the event reportedly pulling in approximately 1.4 million PPV buys, fans are likely to see more from Triller in this format.
