Olivier Awards Announced

The London theatre world honored its best and brightest on February 12 at the Oliviers, England's equivalent of the Tonys.

Among the evening's top winners was Trevor Nunn's restaging of Oklahoma! at the Royal National Theatre, which received awards for best musical, best choreography by Susan Stroman, and best supporting performance in a musical by Shuler Hensley. Anthony Ward was also honored for his set design, which used skewed perspectives and scale to rebuild America's heartland on RNT's vast revolving stage.

Other design achievements include a nod to Hugh Vanstone, who was recognized in the category of Best Lighting Designer for his work on two productions: The Blue Room, a recent Broadway transfer from the Donmar Warehouse, and The Unexpected Man. Costume designer William Dudley was also honored for two stagings, Amadeus at the Old Vic, and The London Cuckolds at RNT.
