Jules Fisher, creative consultant of the Broadway Lighting Master Classes (BLMC), has announced the preliminary schedule for the 2006 event to be held May 22-24 at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. The faculty for the BLMC includes Howell Binkley, Christopher Akerlind, Peggy Eisenhauer, Beverly Emmons, Brian MacDevitt, and projection designer Wendall Harrington.
The 2006 BLMC promises to be an intense three-day event filled with design education and entertainment. Attendees will receive an insider’s look at Light in the Piazza when they see the award-winning show Tuesday evening and take part in a in-depth discussion with lighting designer Christopher Akerlind about his design process. Sessions by top Broadway lighting designers–Brian McDevitt (The Wedding Singer), Howell Binkley (Jersey Boys), and Philip Rosenberg (Spamalot, associate LD), among others–will bring attendees greater insight into the technical and creative aspects of a successful lighting design.
Other highlights include the popular projection panel led by renowned projection designer Wendall Harrington. Attendees will also be invited to a special cocktail reception on Monday night and the Manufacturer's Showcase, which features products from leading lighting manufacturers.
