Worldstudio Foundation's Bright Ideas Fundraising Benefit

Worldstudio Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization, has announced its sixth annual Bright Ideas fundraising benefit and scholarship program. This event is co-sponsored by Architectural Digest magazine and the New York Design Center. Joining the sponsors this year is TSAO Designs, a leading manufacturer of contemporary lighting fixtures.

The Bright Ideas fundraiser is a benefit exhibition, silent auction, and cocktail reception to be held Wednesday, October 10, at the Versteel furniture showroom in the New York Design Center, at 200 Lexington Avenue in New York City, 6:30 to 9pm. The sponsors asked 60 prominent architects, interior designers, and other art and design professionals to redesign, recreate, or otherwise embellish a classic architect-designed table lamp from TSAO Designs, which donated the lamps for the event. These creations, signed by the artists, will be on display for silent bidding, and winners will take home the one-of-a-kind lamps.

Proceeds from the auction will go to Worldstudio Foundation, which provides scholarships for underprivileged and minority students across the country who have demonstrated talent and career interest in professional design. The foundation also funds mentoring programs between high school students and art and design professionals. Since 1995, the foundation has provided more than 200 scholarships totaling nearly $250,000.

Admission to the event is $125. For more information about Worldstudio and the Bright Ideas benefit auction, call 212-366-1317 ext. 18 or visit www.worldstudio.org or www.brightideasbenefit.org.
