Women In Lighting: On Demand Video Of The LDI 2023 Session

Here's a throwback recording from December 2023 of the Women in Lighting panel at LDI 2023 in Las Vegas.

Moderated by lighting designer Ebony Madry, the session was held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 with an intro by Women in Lighting founders Martin Lupton and Sharon Stammers, following by three 30-minute presentations by lighting designers Emily BorntEllen Kuklinski, and Lauren King. The session was followed by a Meet-Up for all LDI attendees, sponsored by Ayrton and ACT Entertainment

"The Women in Lighting project started off in architectural lighting, but many of the architectural lighting professionals we know are inspired by all lighting design forms and all lighting practices. So, there's also a really appealing cross-pollination into other areas of lighting design," says Lupton.

“Having been involved in lighting design from the very beginning, women have had a greater role in shaping the lighting design profession than in architecture and engineering. The lighting design profession is a supportive industry for women and the many routes into the profession offer opportunities from a diverse set of backgrounds. It is an industry that is good at sharing information among its community and can therefore offer support to other women who may need it. We want to encourage women to choose to work in lighting or other related jobs," notes Stammers.
