Presented by James David Smith, designer of RC4Wireless products, this year's Wireless Dimming and Wireless DMX Seminar at the USITT Conference and Stage Expo will offer in-depth discussion of battery technology, radio technology, lamps and LEDs, and safety concerns when using wireless for motion control. The seminar will take place on Wednesday March 19, 2008 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.
This session provides universally useful information applicable to all wireless control systems in a theatre setting, from inexpensive modified hobby toy controllers, to sophisticated proprietary systems.
Four special guests will present examples of projects utilizing wireless:
- Kathleen Devault, lighting designer, Ohio Northern University
- Ryan Davies, lighting supervisor, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre
- Dennis Long, electrician, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Musical Arts Center
- Nick Van Houten, resident special effects and lighting designer, Glendale Centre Theatre
