Balich Wonder Studio has released a video rendering of its design for the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milan on February 6. The Studio has designed at least 16 ceremonies in the past, in addition to a wide range of immersive concerts, touring shows, and festivals. Led by renowned creative director Marco Balich the theme for the ceremony is Armonia (Harmony), and features a spiral LED stage on the pitch at Milan's legendary San Siro stadium, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Around the LED stage are four ramps which symbolize a connection to the four areas where the competitions will be held: Milano, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Valtellina, and Val di Fiemme. The asymmetric stage also evokes a contrast between the city of Milan and the mountains.
The creative team includes:
Creative Directors
Marco Balich, Simone Ferrari, Damiano Michieletto, Lida Castelli, and Lulu Helbaek.
Production
Paolo Fantin, Production Designer
Andrea Farri, Music Director
Massimo Cantini Parrini, Costume Designer
The opening ceremony will feature the athletes from each team and performances by Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, and Sabrina Impacciatore, and will feature a tribute to the late designer Giorgio Armani.
