White Light North Wins Lighting Prize At Blackpool’s Festival Of Light

During the Blackpool Festival of Light, which is part of the Blackpool Illuminations, the biggest temporary lightshow in the world spanning 66 nights of illuminations, the Blackpool office of entertainment lighting supplier White Light won a prize for best lighting.

This year’s Festival of Light featured a wide range of new lighting creations, including a giant mirrorball installation by Michael Trainor entitled “They shoot horses don’t they,” lit by Greg McLenahan, as well as an exhibition of the history of the illuminations with drawings and plans dating back to the 1930s.

As part of the Festival, local businesses were encouraged to add illuminations to their hotels and shops to provide visitors with lighting to enjoy beyond the traditional seafront illuminations. As a lighting supplier, White Light had a bit of an advantage. White Light won a trophy and £5,000. The prize money will be used to supply five worthy causes with £1,000 each of lighting equipment.

White Light North’s office in Blackpool, alongside White Light North’s main base in Sowerby Bridge near Halifax, allows White Light to offer its full range of products and services to customers in the north of England and Scotland.
