Projection/media designer Wendall K. Harrington will be honored with the Ming Cho Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Design at the the 62nd annual ceremony for the Henry Hewes Design Awards on October 19, at an award luncheon in New York. A Henry Hewes Design Award honoree for her work on the original Broadway production of The Who's Tommy, Harrington has added imagery to dozens of productions on and Off Broadway, extending back to the 1970s. Her work has made a profound impact on the way designers, directors, and audiences engage with the emotional impact of light, color, and imagery.

A Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winner, Harrington’s career has embraced diverse disciplines including theatre, publishing and multi-image/video design and production. She has designed images for theatre, dance, and opera. She is the recipient of the 2024 Tony Honor for excellence in design, the Knights of Illumination Lifetime Recognition, the Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the American Theatre Wing Award, the TCI Award for Technical Achievement, The Michael Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration, the Obie Award for Sustained Excellence of Projections, USITT Education Award, and named 2015 Players Club Person of the Year.
Harrington also lectures widely on the art of projection design and is the head of the MFA program in Projection Design at the Yale School of Drama.
